FIRST STEPS THAT I DIDN’T KNOW I WAS TAKING
(Or, Reiki chose me but little did I know it then!)
I inherited my spirituality from my mother who lived her life and raised her family with strong spiritual and holistic ideals. She was an amazing woman and ahead of her time in so many ways. She started me on the path of my journey while I was still a child, although I did not recognize its significance until later in my life
.
She led by her example and I grew up accustomed:
- To the existence of a higher being
- To nourishing fresh foods prepared in healthy ways.
- To avoid exposure to toxic chemicals
- To take only necessary medication
- To enhance our health through herbs, homeopathic remedies, and use of essential oils.
- To experience the power of positive thinking and affirmations long before they became so vastly appreciated over the years,
While I do not remember her using the word “meditation”, she taught me by word and example the importance of regularly scheduling quiet time to relax and clear the mind.
MIDDLE STAGES WHEN REIKI CHANGED MY LIFE
As I matured, even with such a strong spiritual and holistic background, peace and inner joy were at times elusive as I experienced the same challenges we all face. I knew there had to be more and my intellectual curiosity led me to deeply explore wellness approaches beyond those learned in my youth.
After much reading, research and discussions relating to stress relief, relaxation and healing through the various modalities of energy medicine, a close friend who is a Reiki Master introduced me to Reik to help with my stress and anxiety. I was amazed with the dramatic changes and the balance that Reiki treatments brought to my own mind, body, emotions and spirit.
Reiki changed my life.
AN EAGER STUDENT
I needed to learn how to perform Reiki myself.
The next logical step in my journey was studying Reiki I and II with Kathie Lipinski. It was during this phase that I developed a deep passion for Reiki and later went on to become a Usui Reiki Master Teacher. I continued my studies with Kathie and in June 2009, I became certified as a Karuna Reiki Master/Teacher.
After a long and successful career in business spanning both the US and internationally, I now devote my life to my passion for Reiki.
COME WITH ME AND FIND YOUR OWN JOURNEY
My journey is still evolving but it has been such a significant journey that I included a reference to it in the name of my company, Reiki Sojourns.
I feel fortunate to have lived every experience in my life because each was a step toward bringing me to where I am today. I now live my life joyfully with passion, purpose and gratitude. It is my goal to share my passion for Reiki with you and to empower you to move forward with your own healing journey.
